About Lesson

Types of Hybrid Diesel Systems

  1. Mild Hybrid:

    • Uses a small electric motor to assist the diesel engine.
    • Improves fuel efficiency and performance but cannot operate on electric power alone.
  2. Full Hybrid:

    • Capable of running on diesel power, electric power, or a combination of both.
    • Offers significant improvements in fuel economy and emissions reduction.
    • Can operate in electric-only mode for short distances.
  3. Plug-in Hybrid:

    • Similar to a full hybrid but with a larger battery pack that can be recharged from an external power source.
    • Provides an extended electric-only range and further reduces fuel consumption.
