About Lesson
Types of Hybrid Diesel Systems
-
Mild Hybrid:
- Uses a small electric motor to assist the diesel engine.
- Improves fuel efficiency and performance but cannot operate on electric power alone.
-
Full Hybrid:
- Capable of running on diesel power, electric power, or a combination of both.
- Offers significant improvements in fuel economy and emissions reduction.
- Can operate in electric-only mode for short distances.
-
Plug-in Hybrid:
- Similar to a full hybrid but with a larger battery pack that can be recharged from an external power source.
- Provides an extended electric-only range and further reduces fuel consumption.
